The city is one of the main industrial,
cultural and scientific centres of
Ukraine.
Such branches of industry as metal urg
ical, chemical, light and food industries
are wel developed in Dnipropetrovsk.
The city is a centre of space rocket
production in Ukraine.
Nine higher educational
establishments, including the
University, work in the city.
As Dnipropetrovsk is a large cultural
centre of Ukraine, it has 5 theatres,
3 museums, including the Museum
of Fine Arts and the Historical
Museum, the Philarmonic Society and
observatory.
The city was founded in 1776.
Since the 18th century the Palace of
Potyemkin, now the Students’ Palace,
has preserved.
Another famous building is the Pre
obrazhensky cathedral, built in the
19th century.
The city is situated on both banks of
the Dnieper.
Different parts of the city are
connected with each other by three
bridges.
The underground line, which has been
recently opened, also runs under the
river.

Дніпропетровськ
Дніпропетровськ розташований на
річці Дніпро.
Це великий залізничний вузол.
Місто є одним з основних промисло
вих, культурних і наукових центрів
України.
У місті розвинені такі галузі промис
ловості, як металургійна, хімічна,
легка і харчова.
Місто є центром космічного ракето
будування в Україні.
У місті працюють дев’ять вищих на
вчальних закладів, у тому числі
й університет.
Оскільки Дніпропетровськ є вели
ким культурним центром України,
там є п’ять театрів і три музеї,
у тому числі художній та історичний,
філармонія й обсерваторія.

Місто було засноване в 1776 році.
З 18 століття в місті зберігся палац
Потьомкіна, зараз Палац студентів.

Ще однією відомою будівлею є Пре
ображенський собор, побудований
у 19 столітті.
Місто розташоване на обох берегах
Дніпра.
Різні частини міста з’єднані між со
бою трьома мостами.

Лінія метро, що була недавно відкри
та, також проходить під рікою.
